The paper provides some considerations about the value of philosophy in contemporary society and the most appropriate methodological approach to communicating philosophy, but above all, philosophical experience. In particular, it explores what the theoretical issues underlying philosophical communication are and how this kind of experience is connected with self-questioning and the gaining of lifelong skills. To this aim, it proposes some key factors in a long-term research on the teaching of philosophy, highlighting their consistency with its epistemological status, and it indicates some possible lines of action.
