LA FRAGILITÀ E LA SOFFERENZA UMANA
UNA LETTURA ANTROPOFENOMENOLOGICA DEL DISTURBO DEPRESSIVO
Katia Serena Cannata
Depression seems to represent the dominant twenty-first century Zeitgeist. Beyond nosological classifications and strict diagnostic criteria, this paper describes and supports the collaboration between philosophy and psychiatry, focusing on depression and its features from a phenomenological perspective. Particularly outlining the approaches of Karl Jaspers, Ludwig Binswanger and Eugenio Borgna to these issues, the essay examines the principal aspects of phenomenological psychiatry, a fruitful alliance that – far from simple explanations of reductionist paradigms – rediscovers the singularity of each existence, analyses the temporal structures of mental illness and reveals the deep sense hidden inside a psychotic Lebenswelt, always respecting the significance and the richness of human being.
